The Value of Community
Yesterday was our son\’s Team Meeting which included his Job and Home supports/coaches and his social worker. We meet every 3 to 4 months to review how Tom is handling his Recycling Job at RRC and his free time at home and in the community.
This was an awesome meeting for Tom because he was feeling very happy inside. RRC students are on summer break now so Tom only works in the morning and has the afternoon to choose an activity with his job coach. He wants to spend more time with his friends, shop, attend movies and exercise at various Recreation Centres.
As his parent I was thrilled to be part of this positive meeting and proud of our son\’s accomplishments. My husband and I thank Tom\’s Team for making such a positive difference in his life.
I\’ll share more about Tom in coming weeks.
